Amy Katoh, owner of Blue and White, is an advocate for Japanese arts and crafts. She opened her store in 1975 after she began collecting textiles and objects of traditional Japan that were quickly disappearing. “She wanted to collect what she saw, to preserve, to make things, to keep the old going along with the new. The treasure trove shop Blue & White testifies to her vision and endurance.”
I take home a couple of indigo dyed shibori swatches.
